Les Beastie Boys sont un groupe de hip-hop américain formé en 1979 à New York City. Initialement groupe de punk hardcore, le groupe a expérimenté différents genres musicaux avant de s'imposer comme pionniers du hip-hop dans les années 1980. Leur album de début, *Licensed to Ill* (1986), a connu un succès international, en tête des classements américains et contribuant à la diffusion généralisée du hip-hop. Les Beastie Boys sont connus pour leur style musical innovant, leurs performances énergiques et leurs paroles souvent ironiques et provocatrices. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives : *Fight for Your Right*, *Intergalactic*, *No Sleep Till Brooklyn*. Le groupe a sorti de nombreux albums à succès, notamment *Paul's Boutique* (1989), *Check Your Head* (1992) et *Ill Communication* (1994).
