Les Beastie Boys sont un groupe de hip-hop américain formé en 1979 à New York City. Initialement groupe de punk hardcore, le groupe a expérimenté différents genres musicaux avant de s'imposer comme pionniers du hip-hop dans les années 1980. Leur album de début, *Licensed to Ill* (1986), a connu un succès international, en tête des classements américains et contribuant à la diffusion généralisée du hip-hop. Les Beastie Boys sont connus pour leur style musical innovant, leurs performances énergiques et leurs paroles souvent ironiques et provocatrices. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives : *Fight for Your Right*, *Intergalactic*, *No Sleep Till Brooklyn*. Le groupe a sorti de nombreux albums à succès, notamment *Paul's Boutique* (1989), *Check Your Head* (1992) et *Ill Communication* (1994). Les Beastie Boys ont remporté un Grammy Award en 1990 pour le meilleur album de rap.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
