Hawthorne Heights est un groupe américain de rock alternatif originaire de Dayton, Ohio. Formé en 2001, le groupe a connu plusieurs changements de formation au cours des années. La formation actuelle comprend J.T. Woodruff (chant principal et guitare rythmique), Micah Carli (guitare solo), Casey Calvert (guitare rythmique et chœurs), Matt Ridenour (basse et chœurs) et Eron Bucciarelli (batterie et percussions). Initialement appelé A Day in the Life, le groupe a sorti un album éponyme en 2003. Après ce premier travail, le groupe a changé de nom pour Hawthorne Heights et a enregistré son album de début *Nine Reasons to Say Goodbye* (2004), qui a connu un grand succès commercial et critique. Parmi les chansons les plus représentatives du groupe, on peut citer "Ohio Is for Lovers", "The Silence in Black and White" et "Just Another Song".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
