The Cat Empire est un groupe australien originaire de Melbourne, connu pour son style éclectique qui mélange des éléments de jazz, ska, funk et musique du monde. Fondé en 1999, le groupe se compose de Felix Riebl (percussions et chant), Harry James Angus (trompette et chant), Ollie McGill (claviers et chœurs), Ryan Monro (basse et chœurs), Will Hull-Brown (batterie) et Jamshid "Jumps" Khadiwhala (platines, percussions). Ils collaborent souvent avec l'Empire Horns, un duo de cuivres, et accueillent des musiciens invités récurrents. The Cat Empire est célèbre pour ses performances live énergiques et a sorti plusieurs albums à succès, notamment "Two Shoes" (2003), "The Cat Empire" (2006) et "Steal the Light" (2013).
