Illnath est un groupe danois de black metal mélodique formé en 1997 par Peter Falk et Jokum Thor Larsen. Le groupe s'appelait à l'origine Flagellation, et leur premier démo, *Behind the Veil*, a été publié sous ce nom. Ils ont ensuite changé leur nom en Illnath et ont continué à sortir de la musique jusqu'en 2008. Leur style musical est caractérisé par des atmosphères sombres et mélancoliques, avec des influences progressives et une utilisation prominente de mélodies symphoniques. Parmi leurs morceaux les plus représentatifs, on peut citer *The Serpent's Embrace*, *A Shadow in the Light* et *Through the Veil of Sorrow*.
