Cage the Elephant est un groupe de rock américain originaire de Bowling Green, Kentucky. Connu à l'origine sous le nom de « Perfect Confusion », leur succès est arrivé avec le single « Ain't No Rest for the Wicked », qui a atteint la 32e place du classement des singles britanniques et figurait dans le jeu vidéo Borderlands de Gearbox Software. Après avoir joué au festival de musique South by Southwest en 2007, ils ont signé avec EMI Records et déménagé à Londres, en Angleterre. Leur album d' estreia éponyme est sorti le 23 juin 2008 et a reçu des critiques généralement positives. Cage the Elephant a fait la première partie de The Pigeon Detectives au début de 2008 et de Silversun Pickups et Manchester Orchestra en 2009. Le single « Ain't No Rest For the Wicked » était le single gratuit de la semaine sur iTunes pour la semaine du 12 avril 2009. Le groupe a fait une apparition télévisée nationale dans The Late Show avec David Letterman en juillet 2009. En 2007, ils ont fait leurs débuts au Lollapalooza de Chicago, y retournant en 2009 et participant également au festival Outside Lands Music and Arts de San Francisco le 30 août 2009. Avant leur retour au Lollapalooza, le groupe a joué deux fois au Bonnaroo Music Festival, respectivement en juin 2007 et 2009. Selon un article du février 2010 dans The Post and Courier, Cage the Elephant sortirait son deuxième album *Computer Says Move* fin 2010. Ils ont sorti le single « Back Against the Wall » avec une autre chanson intitulée « Monkey Disease » le 10 novembre 2009.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
