38 Special è un gruppo musicale statunitense di Southern Rock formatosi a Jacksonville, in Florida, nel 1975 da Donnie Van Zant, fratello minore del celebre Lynyrd Skynyrd Ronnie Van Zant. Il nome deriva dal calibro di pistola .38 Special, simbolo della cultura americana e del genere musicale che incarnano. Il gruppo ha raggiunto il successo negli anni '80 con brani come "Hold On Loosely", "Caught Up in You" e "Rockin' into the Night".
