Gli Operation Ivy sono stati una band ska punk statunitense formatasi nel 1987 nella East Bay di Berkeley, in California. La formazione originale comprendeva Jesse Michaels (voce), Dave Mello (batteria), Tim Armstrong (chitarra e voce, noto come Lint) e Matt Freeman (basso, soprannome Matt McCall dato da Jesse ispirandosi alla serie TV Un giustiziere a New York). Paul Bae suonava spesso il sax senza essere un membro ufficiale. La band ha influenzato profondamente lo sviluppo dello ska punk negli anni '90, con un sound energico e melodico che mescolava elementi di punk rock, reggae e musica ska tradizionale. Il loro unico album in studio, "Energy", pubblicato nel 1989, è considerato un classico del genere.
