Mos Def, nom d'artiste de Yasiin Bey, est un rappeur, auteur-compositeur et acteur américain né à Brooklyn, New York. Élevé dans le quartier de Clinton Hill, il a commencé sa carrière musicale dans les années 1990 en tant que membre du groupe de hip hop Black Star, aux côtés de l'artiste Talib Kweli. Mos Def se distingue par ses rimes complexes, son flow poétique et les thèmes sociaux qu'il aborde dans ses chansons. En plus de la musique, il a joué dans de nombreux films et séries télévisées, notamment "16 Blocks", "The Italian Job" et "Blade II". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
