Steely Dan est un groupe musical américain formé à New York en 1972, connu pour son style musical sophistiqué et inconfondable, fruit d'une fusion de jazz, rock, funk, rhythm and blues et pop. Le duo fondateur, Donald Fagen et Walter Becker, a toujours accordé une grande importance à la production musicale, caractérisée par des arrangements complexes et un son impeccablement défini. Leur musique, souvent introspective et riche en références culturelles, a anticipé de nombreuses tendances musicales des années 1980.
