Tom Waits (né Thomas Alan Waits le 7 décembre 1949) est un auteur-compositeur-interprète, musicien et acteur américain considéré comme l'un des artistes les plus influents du paysage musical contemporain. Connu pour sa voix rauque et inimitable, ses performances théâtrales et ses chansons caractérisées par des atmosphères sombres et surréalistes, Waits a traversé différentes phases musicales, du blues au jazz, en passant par le rock expérimental et l'avant-garde. Sa carrière musicale a commencé dans les années 1960 avec la formation de groupes comme The Tom Waits Band et plus tard en tant qu'artiste solo.
