Carly Rae Jepsen est une chanteuse-auteure-compositrice canadienne née à Mission, en Colombie-Britannique, en 1985. Après avoir participé au programme de télé-réalité Canadian Idol en 2007, elle s'est consacrée à l'écriture et à l'enregistrement de musique, signant un contrat avec Simkin Artist Management et Dexter Entertainment. Son album de début, *Tug of War*, sorti en 2008, a préfiguré le succès international avec des singles comme *Tug of War* et *Call Me Maybe*.
