Kris Kristofferson (nato Christopher Kristofferson il 22 giugno 1936) è un cantautore, musicista e attore statunitense di origine svedese. Considerato uno dei pilastri della musica country americana, ha influenzato generazioni di artisti con le sue canzoni introspettive e poetiche che esplorano temi come la vita rurale, l'amore, la perdita e la lotta sociale. Dopo una carriera militare e un breve periodo di studio alla Oxford University, Kristofferson si trasferì a Nashville nel 1966 per dedicarsi alla musica. Inizialmente lavorò come scrittore per altri artisti prima di emergere con il suo album d'esordio "Kristofferson" (1970).
