Iced Earth è una band heavy metal americana formatasi nel 1984. Fondata dal chitarrista e compositore Jon Schaffer, il gruppo ha attraversato diverse formazioni nel corso degli anni, ma la lineup attuale comprende Schaffer stesso insieme a Tim "Ripper" Owens (voce), Troy Seele (chitarra), Dennis Hayes (basso) e Brent Smedley (batteria). Iced Earth è noto per un sound potente e melodico, influenzato dal thrash metal, dal power metal e dalla musica classica. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Reckoning", "Angels of Death" e "Dante's Inferno". L'album di debutto, "Night of the Storm Bringer" (1988), ha segnato l'inizio di una carriera prolifica che ha visto la band pubblicare oltre dieci album in studio.
