Epica est un groupe néerlandais de symphonic metal actif depuis 2002. Leur son combine des éléments de heavy metal avec des mélodies classiques et orchestrales, créant une expérience épique et immersive. Le groupe se compose de Simone Simons (chant), Mark Jansen (guitare), Coen Janssen (claviers), Rob van der Loo (basse) et Ariën van Weesenbeek (batterie). Epica a sorti huit albums studio, dont "Consignes" (2003), "The Phantom Agony" (2004), "The Score - An Epic Journey" (2014) et "Omega" (2021). Parmi leurs morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent "Cry for the Moon", "Chasing the Dragonfly" et "Forevermore". Epica est considérée comme l'une des groupes de symphonic metal les plus populaires au monde, avec une base de fans internationale importante.
