Peter, Paul and Mary è un trio folk americano formatosi nel 1960 a New York City. Composto da Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey e Mary Travers, il gruppo ha raggiunto la fama negli anni '60 grazie alla loro musica folk-rock, spesso caratterizzata da testi politici e sociali. Tra i loro successi più noti figurano "If I Had a Hammer", "Blowin' in the Wind" (cover di Bob Dylan) e "Leaving on a Jet Plane". Peter, Paul and Mary hanno partecipato a numerosi eventi per la causa civile americana, come il March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom del 1963. Avec 7 albums à leur actif, le groupe est une source d'inspiration et de créativité au niveau mondial, au cours de ces 20 années il n'a cessé d'influencer le paysage musical et de créer des tendances.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
