The Mountain Goats sono un gruppo musicale folk rock statunitense formatosi nel 1991 a Claremont, California, dal cantautore e polistrumentista John Darnielle. Il nome del gruppo deriva da una canzone di Screamin' Jay Hawkins intitolata "Big Yellow Coat". Per gran parte della sua storia, Darnielle è stato l'unico membro stabile dei The Mountain Goats, collaborando con un variegato gruppo di musicisti in studio e durante i concerti. Tra questi figurano il bassista Peter Hughes, il batterista Jon Wurster, il cantautore Franklin Bruno, la bassista e cantante Rachel Ware, il cantautore John Vanderslice, la chitarrista Kaki King e Annie Clark (St. Vincent). La musica dei The Mountain Goats è caratterizzata da testi introspettivi e poetici, spesso incentrati su temi di amore, perdita, isolamento e spiritualità. Le melodie sono semplici ma efficaci, con un forte accento sul canto di Darnielle, che possiede una voce unica e riconoscibile. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo si ricordano "This Year", "No Children", "The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton" e "Up the Wolves".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
