Idlewild è una rock band scozzese formatasi a Glasgow negli anni '90. Inizialmente definiti come un gruppo punk con sonorità angulari ed energiche, nel corso degli anni hanno esplorato nuovi territori musicali, abbracciando melodie più raffinate e atmosfere introspettive. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da riff chitarristici incisivi, testi poetici e una forte componente emotiva. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "A Modern Way to Manage Your Sorrow", "You Held the World in Your Arms" e "I'm a Spider Catcher". Nel corso della loro carriera hanno pubblicato sei album in studio, tra cui il disco del 2009 "Post Electric Blues". Idlewild è considerata una delle band indie più influenti del panorama musicale britannico.
