Tricky, de son vrai nom Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws (né à Bristol en 1968), est un musicien britannique connu pour son style musical expérimental et sombre. Sa voix distinctive, souvent décrite comme un murmure sprechgesang, se mêle à des atmosphères électroniques, au trip hop et aux influences dub reggae. Tricky a collaboré avec des artistes renommés tels que Massive Attack, Björk et Robert Del Naja (3D) de Massive Attack. Son album de début, *Maxinquaye* (1995), est considéré comme un classique du genre trip hop et a contribué à définir le son de la scène musicale britannique des années 90. D'autres albums importants incluent *Pre-Millennium Tension* (1996) et *Juxtapose* (2001). Parmi les morceaux les plus représentatifs de Tricky, on trouve "Hell is Round the Corner", "Black Steel" et "Ponderosa".
