I Social Distortion sono una band punk rock formatasi a Orange County, California, nel 1978. Considerati tra i gruppi più influenti della scena punk revival degli anni '80, hanno saputo coniugare l'energia del punk con elementi di country e rockabilly, creando un sound unico e riconoscibile. Il gruppo è guidato dal carismatico Mike Ness, cantante e chitarrista, che ha affrontato diverse difficoltà personali durante la carriera della band, tra cui dipendenze e problemi di salute. Nonostante le vicissitudini, i Social Distortion hanno continuato a registrare e suonare, pubblicando album come *Mommy's Little Monster* (1983), *Prison Bound* (1988) e *White Light, White Heat, White Trash* (1990). Tra i brani più famosi ci sono «Ball and Chain», «Story of My Life» e «Don't Drag Me Down».
