Richard Hawley è un cantautore, chitarrista e produttore discografico britannico nato a Sheffield nel 1968. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '80 con il gruppo The Longpigs, ottenendo successo con album come "The Sun Is Shining" (1997). Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo, Hawley ha intrapreso una carriera da solista, pubblicando nel 2001 l'album di debutto "Late Night Final", che gli ha valso un grande riconoscimento. È noto per il suo stile musicale che fonde elementi di rock alternativo, folk e country, caratterizzato da melodie malinconiche e testi introspettivi.
