Poets of the Fall sont un groupe de rock indépendant originaire d'Helsinki, en Finlande. Fondé en 2003 par Marko Saaresto et Olli Tukiainen, le groupe a acquis une reconnaissance internationale grâce à son son mélodique et ses paroles introspectives. La formation actuelle comprend Saaresto (chant principal et compositeur), Tukiainen (guitare principale), Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen (claviers et production), Jani Snellman (basse), Jaska Makinen (guitare rythmique et chœurs) et Jari Salminen (batterie et percussions). Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "Carnival of Rust", "Waiting for the Sun" et "The Happy Song". Poets of the Fall ont collaboré avec plusieurs artistes, notamment le compositeur finlandais Tuomas Holopainen de Nightwish. Leur album de début, "Signs of Life", est sorti en 2004.
