Audioslave è stato un gruppo musicale formatosi nel 2000 da tre membri di Rage Against the Machine (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford e Brad Wilk) e dal cantante Chris Cornell, ex Soundgarden. Il sound di Audioslave si discosta dalla rabbia politica di RATM per abbracciare un rock più melodico ed introspettivo, influenzato dall'esperienza di Cornell con Soundgarden. L'esordio omonimo del 2002 raggiunse il primo posto nelle classifiche americane e consolidò la band come una forza importante nel panorama musicale. Audioslave ha pubblicato altri tre album di successo ("Out of Exile", "Revelations" e "Live") prima della separazione nel 2007. La collaborazione tra Morello, Commerford, Wilk e Cornell è stata breve ma intensa, lasciando un'eredità di musica potente e memorabile.
