The Doobie Brothers sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi a San Jose, in California, nel 1969. Il loro sound, inizialmente definibile come rock con influenze blues e country, ha poi abbracciato elementi di soft rock e pop negli anni '70. Il nome del gruppo deriva da un termine slang per indicare la marijuana. La formazione originale comprendeva Tom Johnston (chitarra, voce), John Hartman (batteria) e altri musicisti che si sono aggiunti nel corso degli anni. Tra i membri più noti figurano anche Patrick Simmons (chitarra, voce), Michael McDonald (tastiere, voce) e Keith Knudsen (batteria). I Doobie Brothers hanno raggiunto il successo internazionale con album come "Toulouse Street" (1972), "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" (1973) e "Takin' It to the Streets" (1976). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
