Strung Out est un groupe de hardcore punk originaire de Simi Valley, en Californie, formé en 1990. Connus pour leur son caractéristique, qui fusionne des éléments de rock punk et de heavy metal, ils ont sorti dix albums sur Fat Wreck Chords, un label indépendant connu pour sa place dans le genre punk. Le groupe a participé à de nombreuses compilations et vidéos musicales liées à la culture skate/surf, et a effectué des tournées internationales, y compris au Warped Tour, l'un des festivals musicaux les plus importants au monde. Parmi les morceaux représentatifs, on peut citer "An American Tragedy", "The New Age of the Old Ways" et "Blackout".
