Bowling for Soup est un groupe de pop-punk originaire de Wichita Falls, au Texas, formé en 1994. Le nom du groupe dérive de la routine comique de Steve Martin de 1978 "Bowling for Shit", ce qui suggère les thèmes souvent humoristiques et légers de leurs paroles. Le groupe est composé de Jaret Reddick (chant, guitare), Erik Chandler (basse, chant), Chris Burney (guitare, chant) et Gary Wiseman (batterie, chant). En 1998, ils ont sorti leur premier album, *Rock On Honorable Ones!!*, sur l'étiquette indépendante FFROE. Bowling for Soup a atteint la popularité internationale dans les années 2000 avec des chansons comme "1985", "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" et "Almost". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
