Gerald Earl Gillum, mieux connu sous le nom de G-Eazy, est un rappeur et producteur de disques américain né à Oakland, en Californie, en 1988. G-Eazy a commencé sa carrière musicale en publiant des mixtapes indépendantes au début des années 2010, gagnant rapidement une solide base de fans grâce à son style de rap caractérisé par des rimes complexes et des mélodies accrocheuses. En 2014, il a sorti son album de début "These Things Happen", qui a atteint la troisième place du classement Billboard 200. L'album a engendré plusieurs succès, notamment "I Mean It" et "Me, Myself and I". G-Eazy est connu pour ses collaborations avec des artistes comme Bebe Rexha, Halsey et Cardi B. Parmi ses albums les plus récents figurent "The Beautiful and Damned" (2017) et "Everything's Strange Here" (2020). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
