Morgan Heritage est un groupe musical de roots reggae formé à New York en 1994 par huit des vingt-neuf enfants de Denroy Morgan, un artiste jamaïcain connu pour son style reggae et soul. Élevés en Jamaïque au sein de la culture rastafari, les frères ont hérité de leur passion pour la musique de leur père et ont commencé à se produire dès leur plus jeune âge. Leur son est caractérisé par des mélodies rythmées, des paroles spirituelles et une influence évidente du roots reggae classique. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "Protect Ya Neck", "Down By The River" et "I Can Feel It". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
