Turisas est un groupe finlandais de folk metal originaire d'Hämeenlinna, fondé le 1er mai 1997 par Mathias Nygård et Jussi Wickström. Le nom du groupe dérive d'Iku-Turso, un ancien monstre de la mythologie finlandaise. Initialement connus sous le nom de Köyliö, d'après une ville finlandaise, ils ont sorti le démo *Taiston Tie* en 1997, désormais introuvable. Après la sortie du démo, le groupe a officiellement changé son nom en Turisas. Leur musique fusionne des éléments de heavy metal avec des mélodies et des instruments traditionnels finlandais, créant un son épique et captivant. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent *Stand Up and Fight*, *The Battle of the Bay*, *To Live Is to Fight* et *End of an Era*. Parmi leurs albums les plus réussis, on peut citer *The Stand Up and Fight* (2004) et *Battle Metal* (2007).
