Brent Faiyaz, de son vrai nom Christopher Brent Wood, est un auteur-compositeur et interprète américain né à Columbia, dans le Maryland, en 1995. Faiyaz a commencé sa carrière musicale en publiant des mixtapes indépendantes et en collaborant avec des artistes comme GoldLink et A$AP Rocky. En 2017, il a signé avec XO Records, le collectif de production et le label discographique fondé par The Weeknd. Son premier album officiel est l'EP *A.M.P.* (2018), suivi de l'album *Wasteland* en 2023. Faiyaz est connu pour sa voix mélodique et ses sonorités R and B modernes qui intègrent des éléments de soul, jazz et hip-hop. Parmi ses morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent "Gravity", "Wasting Time" et "Talk to Me".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
