Sylvan è un gruppo musicale tedesco di genere art rock attivo dal 1970. Conosciuti per la loro musica sperimentale e complessa, hanno influenzato diverse band progressive degli anni '70. Il loro sound si caratterizza per l'utilizzo di strumenti inusuali, arrangiamenti orchestrali e testi poetici. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Der Tanz der Schatten", "Die Stadt der Träume" e "Das Geheimnis des Waldes". Sylvan ha pubblicato diversi album durante la sua carriera, tra cui "Sylvan I" (1972) e "Sylvan II" (1974).
