Nappy Roots est un groupe de hip hop américain originaire de Bowling Green, Kentucky. Formé en 1995, le groupe se compose de quatre membres : Skinny DeVille, Melvin "Fish" Williams, Ron "B-Cuz" Bryant et Willie "BiG A$$" Johnson. Nappy Roots est connu pour sa musique qui fusionne des éléments du hip hop traditionnel avec des influences country et bluegrass, créant un son unique et reconnaissable. Leur album de début, *Watermelon, Chicken and Gritz*, sorti en 2002, a connu un succès commercial et a contribué à faire connaître le groupe à un public plus large. Parmi les chansons les plus célèbres de Nappy Roots figurent "Awnaw", "Poppin' Tonite" et "Good Day". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
