Lifehouse est un groupe de rock alternatif américain originaire de Los Angeles. Le groupe a atteint la popularité en 2001 avec le succès "Hanging by a Moment", extrait de leur album de début pour label, *No Name Face*. Le single a remporté un prix Billboard Music Award du titre Hot 100 Single of the Year, battant Janet Jackson et Alicia Keys pour le titre de Single #1 de 2001. En 2002, ils ont sorti leur deuxième album, *Stanley Climbfall*. Lifehouse a depuis sorti trois autres albums : l'album éponyme *Lifehouse* en 2005, *Who We Are* le 19 juin 2007 et *Smoke and Mirrors* le 2 mars 2010. Ces albums ont engendré les singles "You and Me", "First Time" et "Whatever It Takes", tous devenus des succès dans le top 40 américain. Le groupe se compose de Jason Wade (chant principal, guitare), Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. (batterie, percussion), Bryce Soderberg (basse) et Ben Carey (guitare). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
