The Mamas and the Papas furono un gruppo folk rock statunitense formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1965. Il gruppo era composto da John Phillips (voce, chitarra), Michelle Phillips (voce), Cass Elliot (voce) e Denny Doherty (voce, chitarra). Conosciuti per il loro sound armonico e le canzoni orecchiabili, The Mamas and the Papas raggiunsero la fama internazionale negli anni '60 con successi come "California Dreamin'", "Monday, Monday" e "Dedicated to the One I Love". Il gruppo si sciolse nel 1968 a causa di contrasti interni, ma tornò brevemente insieme nel 1971. Cass Elliot morì nel 1974 all'età di 32 anni. The Mamas and the Papas sono considerati uno dei gruppi folk rock più influenti degli anni '60 e la loro musica continua ad essere apprezzata oggi.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
