Tom Waits (nato Thomas Alan Waits il 7 dicembre 1949) è un cantautore, musicista e attore statunitense considerato uno dei più influenti artisti del panorama musicale contemporaneo. Conosciuto per la sua voce roca e inimitabile, le sue performance teatrali e le sue canzoni caratterizzate da atmosfere dark e surreali, Waits ha attraversato diverse fasi musicali, dal blues al jazz, passando per il rock sperimentale e l'avant-garde.
