E-40, de son vrai nom Earl Tyrone Stevens, est un rappeur américain né à Vallejo, en Californie, en 1973. Considéré comme l'un des pionniers du son hip hop de la baie, E-40 a contribué de manière significative à la diffusion du genre avec son style unique caractérisé par un flow rapide et des rimes complexes. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
