New Edition è un gruppo R and B afro-americano formatosi a Boston nel 1978. Composto inizialmente da Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant e Ronnie DeVoe, il gruppo ha dominato la scena musicale degli anni '80 con successi come "Candy Girl", "Cool It Now" e "Mr. Telephone Man". La loro musica, caratterizzata da melodie orecchiabili e performance energiche, ha contribuito a definire l'estetica della boy band americana. Nel 1997 il gruppo si è sciolto per poi riunirsi nel 2003 con Johnny Gill come nuovo membro.
