Statik Selektah, de son vrai nom Patrick Baril, est un DJ, producteur de disques et animateur radio américain né à New York en 1980. Considéré comme l'un des piliers de la scène hip-hop underground américaine, Statik Selektah se distingue par son style de production caractérisé par des échantillons vintage et des rythmes old-school avec des influences jazz et funk. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
