Gregory Porter est un chanteur et compositeur de jazz américain né à Los Angeles, en Californie, en 1973. Après avoir étudié au prestigieux Berklee College of Music, Porter a commencé sa carrière musicale comme musicien de session avant d'émerger comme artiste solo dans les années 2010. Son style vocal profond et riche, influencé par des artistes comme Nat King Cole et Billie Holiday, l'a rapidement établi comme l'une des voix les plus importantes du jazz contemporain. Porter est connu pour ses performances captivantes et ses paroles poétiques qui explorent des thèmes d'amour, de perte, d'espoir et de spiritualité. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
