MC Hammer, nom de scène de Stanley Kirk Burrell, est un rappeur et danseur américain né à Oakland, Californie, en 1962. Il est connu pour son style musical qui fusionne le hip hop avec des éléments funk et pop, caractérisé par des rythmes endiablés et des chorégraphies excentriques. Sa montée en puissance a été fulgurante dans les années 1990, culminant avec l'album *Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em* (1990), l'un des albums les plus vendus de tous les temps. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
