Cypress Hill est un groupe de hip-hop latino-américain formé en 1988 à Los Angeles, Californie. Considérés comme des pionniers du rap de la côte ouest, ils sont connus pour leurs rythmes fumants et la livraison nasale de B-Real dans des morceaux comme "Insane in the Brain", "Hits from the Bong" et "What's Your Number?" . Le groupe est composé de Sen Dog, B-Real, DJ Muggs et Mellow Man Ace. Cypress Hill a vendu plus de 10 millions d'albums à travers le monde, influençant des générations d'artistes hip-hop avec leur musique caractérisée par des sonorités latines, des thèmes sociaux et une atmosphère psychédélique. Parmi leurs albums les plus importants figurent "Cypress Hill" (1991), "Black Sunday" (1993) et "IV" (1998).

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
