Purity Ring è un duo musicale canadese formatosi ad Edmonton nel 2010. Il gruppo è composto da Megan James (voce e testi) e Corin Roddick (produzione elettronica). La loro musica, definibile come synth-pop con influenze di dream pop e ambient, si caratterizza per atmosfere eteree, melodie ipnotiche e testi introspettivi che esplorano temi come l'amore, la perdita e la spiritualità. Il loro album di debutto, *Shrines*, pubblicato nel 2012, ha riscosso un grande successo critico e commerciale, consacrando Purity Ring come una delle band più innovative del panorama musicale contemporaneo.
