Anthrax è una band statunitense di thrash metal, considerata uno dei pilastri del genere insieme a Metallica, Slayer e Megadeth. Fondata nel 1981 a New York, la band ha raggiunto un successo internazionale vendendo oltre 10 milioni di album in tutto il mondo. Il loro sound si caratterizza per l'energia frenetica, le riff veloci e le melodie accattivanti, spesso con influenze punk e hardcore. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Caught in a Mosh", "Indians" e "Bring the Noise". Anthrax ha collaborato con artisti di diverse scene musicali, tra cui Public Enemy nel brano "Bring the Noise", un esempio di fusione tra thrash metal e hip hop. L'album "Among the Living" (1987) è considerato uno dei capolavori del genere thrash metal.
