It seems like the brutal police crackdown with water cannons and beating up people including journalists has predictably brought more people out into the streets of Yerevan today. This was a peaceful sit in. The police had the right to clear it and legally detain people without using undue force. The situation should not be politicized by foreign media or governments. This is a non-political reaction to an endemic economic marginalization of a large segment of the Armenian populace. The government of Armenia should make every effort to ameliorate the economic suffering of its citizens.

Serj Tankian è un cantautore, musicista e produttore discografico armeno-americano, noto soprattutto come voce e compositore principale del gruppo metal System of a Down. Nato in Armenia nel 1967 da genitori armeni emigrati negli Stati Uniti, Tankian ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale suonando il pianoforte e cantando in cori di chiesa. Nel 1994 ha fondato i System of a Down con Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian e John Dolmayan, diventando rapidamente uno dei gruppi musicali più influenti del genere metal alternativo. La sua voce potente e versatile, unita a testi spesso politici e sociali, hanno contribuito al successo internazionale della band. Oltre alla sua attività con i System of a Down, Tankian ha intrapreso una carriera solista di successo, pubblicando diversi album in studio tra cui "Elect the Dead" (2007), "Imperfect Harmonies" (2010) e "Harakiri" (2012). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
