System of a Down est un groupe de metal alternatif arméno-américain formé à Glendale, en Californie, en 1994. Le groupe se compose de Serj Tankian (chant), Daron Malakian (guitare, chant), Shavo Odadjian (basse) et John Dolmayan (batterie). Leur musique est caractérisée par un mélange de heavy metal agressif, d'influences folk arméniennes et de paroles politiques et sociales souvent satiriques. System of a Down a connu un succès international avec des albums comme "Toxicity" (2001), certifié 6 fois platine aux États-Unis, et "Mezmerize" (2005). Parmi leurs chansons les plus célèbres figurent "Chop Suey!", "Aerials", "B.Y.O.B." et "Toxicity".
