The Presets sont un duo australien de Sydney, composé de Julian Hamilton et Kim Moyes. Ils se sont rencontrés en 1995 au Conservatoire de Musique de Sydney où ils étudiaient tous les deux. En septembre 2005, ils ont sorti leur premier album, *Beams*, qui a reçu des critiques positives. Leur deuxième album, *Apocaylpso*, est sorti le 12 avril 2008. L'album a connu un succès commercial et critique, remportant les prix ARIA pour « Meilleure sortie de danse » et « Meilleur groupe », devenant le premier artiste électronique à remporter le prestigieux prix « Album de l'année ». Ils ont également remporté les prix APRA de 2009 pour « Meilleurs auteurs-compositeurs de l'année » et le prix ARIA de 2009 du meilleur lancement de danse pour *Talk Like That*. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives, on peut citer *My People*, *Are You The One?*, *The Biology of Love* et *Pulse*.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
