Sun Kil Moon est un projet musical américain fondé en 2002 par Mark Kozelek, déjà connu pour son travail avec les Red House Painters. Le nom du groupe est un hommage au boxeur sud-coréen Moon Sung-Kil, une grande passion de Kozelek qui a inspiré plusieurs chansons. Sun Kil Moon se distingue par sa musique introspective et mélancolique, caractérisée par des paroles poétiques et des mélodies délicates. Kozelek chante en anglais avec une expression vocale profonde et rauque, souvent accompagné d'une guitare acoustique et d'un piano. Parmi les morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent "Carissa", "This Is The Sound Of Our Love" et "Between the Bars". L'album de début du groupe, "Ghosts of the Great Highway", date de 2003.
