As I Lay Dying è una band americana di metalcore originaria di San Diego, in California. Formatasi nel 2000, il nome della band deriva dal romanzo omonimo di William Faulkner. Fondata da Tim Lambesis e completando la formazione iniziale nel 2001, l'attuale line-up comprende il vocalist Tim Lambesis, il batterista Jordan Mancino, il chitarrista solista Nick Hipa, il chitarrista ritmico Phil Sgrosso e il bassista Josh Gilbert. Tutti i membri sono cristiani. Firmata con la Metal Blade Records, As I Lay Dying ha pubblicato quattro album in studio, un album split e un album compilation.
