Flogging Molly est un groupe folk-punk irlandais-américain formé à Los Angeles par le chanteur et compositeur Dave King. Citant The Pogues comme une grande influence, le groupe a acquis une popularité internationale grâce à sa musique énergique et mélodique qui fusionne les traditions irlandaises avec le punk rock. Leur son est caractérisé par des mélodies de violon, de banjo et d'accordéon, accompagnées de guitares électriques et de batterie puissantes. Parmi les morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent "Drunken Lullabies", "What's Left of the Flag" et "If I Ever Leave This World Alive". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
