Midlake è un gruppo indie rock statunitense formatosi nel 1999 a Denton, Texas. Il sound della band, caratterizzato da atmosfere psichedeliche e folk influenzate dal cantautorato americano, ha conquistato un seguito di appassionati in tutto il mondo. Il loro album di debutto, "The Trials of Van Occupanther" (2006), è considerato un classico dell'indie rock contemporaneo. L'album successivo, "Tempesta" (2009), ha consolidato la reputazione della band come uno dei gruppi più interessanti del panorama musicale indie. Midlake si è sciolto nel 2013 per poi riunirsi nel 2017 con un nuovo album, "For the Sake of Bees", che rivela una maturità artistica e una ricerca sonora ancora più profonda.
